A single grain of good rice begins its journey in the paddies of Jiangnan, spreading far and wide. With this new concept store, nice rice returns to Wuxi — the heart of Jiangnan — taking “Embracing Jiangnan, Serving the Finest Rice” as its core inspiration. By extracting and transforming the contours of Jiangnan rice fields, the design imprints nature into the space, inviting the outdoors inside and creating a shopping environment rich in regional character yet full of quiet charm.
At the entrance, a linen-woven screen sets the tone, allowing glimpses of the interior to softly emerge. A corridor-style layout introduces entrances on both the left and right. Stepping inside, the floor is laid with deep ink-toned bricks arranged in concentric rings that radiate outward, evoking the layered geometry of Jiangnan’s rice fields. Black frames and white walls form a scroll-like backdrop, while the displays and garments become the living imagery within the painting. As one moves through the space, shifting perspectives create a more immersive shopping experience.
Cabinetry crafted from natural wood preserves the brand’s foundational palette, while the integration of black and white tones adds an air of elegance and restraint. nice rice seeks to merge the gentle rhythm of Jiangnan’s water towns with its own youthful design language, using a circular circulation path to compose a walk-in ink-wash landscape.
